As reported by market watch, The E.U. has approved that passangers onboard now will be able to make calls, receive calls, send text messages , receive text messeages and so on. 

I personally as well many are going to enjoy this. Long hours of flight and what so ever in-flight entertainment is provided, nothing is like chatting/texting on the phones. 

I do feel there still will be some restrictions, depending on airplane company policies that might require us to have the phones on silent/vibrate ? I think thats fair enough or else you might just wake up or disturb another passenger. 

Several carriers such as Air France and KLM are reported to be the commercial pioneers to allow this soon.
