Its important to know how to behave when calling out on electronic mediums such as mobile phones or other services. This would simply put you at the good book of receivers at the same time you wont be wasting someone’s precious time.
- Check the time before calling. If it’s past dinner, avoid calling or texting. Do make calls only at day light unless you know the person very well and have his/hers private number.
- Do always make sure you know which number to call. Most people have two separate lines. One for work and the other for personal. Don’t waste your time by calling the business lines if its after work hours. And don’t call personal numbers if it’s regarding work.
- Don’t expect everyone to know you or have your numbers in their contact list. It’s common for people not to save numbers. Do always quote your name at the end of your text. Of course if you know the person close and vise versa, you may avoid this tip.
- Its a busy world out there. Do always message before calling. Unless its urgent. Many fail to do this but trust me this would always put you on one’s good book.
- Do not repeat calls if your first call was rejected or was not answered. The person you are contacting might be in a meeting. Its not a very wise thing to repeatedly call back. Do kindly leave a text message.
