Is this for real ? If it is, the future is just beginning. The buzz is on that Soundarya Rajnikanth from Ocher Studios would be teaming up with Visnuvaradhan for a sequel of Ajith Kumar’s Billa. Titled probably “Billa 2“. Adding to that, it is also said that Warner Brothers are teaming up with Ocher Studios for this sequel. 

As far as I could remember, the last sequel based movie in Tamil was “Japan-ill Kalyanaraman”, a sequel to the Kalyanaraman movie. It was a Kamal Hassan film. 

Well currently, Tamil cinema is trying to shift to the best in order to be par for a global audience. Though we have still lots of the commercial based movies, it will take time for the producers to change audience and their mindsets. And it’s time to change. They have to start making movies based on screenplays and fitting in the right actors according to the script and not to go on making films for Actors. 

If that was to stop, Tamil cinema would be equally par with leading cinema industries on a global platform. In terms of technical and budget, Tamil cinema is rich. All it needs to do is get on the right track now. Forget about your mass audiences for sometime and they will change as time goes on. You need to compete and grow. Reach the global audience for more prosperity. 

This year, there’s lot’s of great things happening in the industry. We have Sultan The Warior animation movie coming up, Kamal Hassan’s Dasavathaaram, Gautham Menon’s Varanam Aayiram , Vikram’s Kandhasamy and many more. This projects are exclusively the future of Tamil Cinema. I really do hope that Billa 2 sequel would hit the green lights soon and join in the making of Tamil cinema’s future, if the buzz was true. So all the best and lets all move on to a brighter shift.
