Forget about the 3G iPhone or Snow Leopard. To me the most interesting news by Apple in this recent keynote was Mobile Me. Im seriously telling you, this is ultimate syncing. With push technology applied to most aspects of personal computer data.
Mobile Me is not only a new name for the .Mac services but its even more than that. Its a complete overhaul. Imagine an Microsoft Exchange Server for everyone now. The 3 main key function of Mobile Me would be Push Email, Push Contacts and Push Calendar.
First it begins by you registering for an account at me.com. You would then have a personalized email account, e.g: saran@me.com. I cant wait to get that. Its the same concept as the .mac account but the beauty is that now you get to even manage your emails on a web application just like the outlook express on the Exchange Servers.
Besides email, you have iCal, Address Book, Gallery and iDisk(20 GB). All as a web based application. Now here’s the best part. Imagine you have a PC at work, a mac at home and an iPhone/iPod touch on the road. Now you can sync on the go instantly with push technology and every single device which now will have the very same information pushed to you respectively respectively.
When the server detects an email on your @me.com email, it instantly pushes the email to all three devices. And now just say you edit that email on your iPhone or delete it, instantly the updates are seen on your other devices.(provided you are connected to the internet). The Mobile Me server acts as an information cloud of yours and acts according to your changes. This applies to iCal & Address Book as well.
Im sure you would be wondering, why am I saying PC when it does not have iCal or Address Book. The beauty is it works with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 as well. And contacts options with even Vista or XP contacts. If you don’t own a mac, nevertheless it works with PC to PC as well. You could sync your PC to Mac, PC to iPhone , the options are endless. I would even dare to call this an end to Google Calendar and so on. I rather pay to stay equally synced with all my devices. I just hope soon that other mobile phone OS would also be supported in the future. Well Apple has it in mind for sure.

I agree completely. What is nice is if you currently have a .mac account it will automatically switch over to a .me account. Not only is this great for personal use (no corporate servers needed), but also for small businesses who have more than one employee and need to stay in contact with them through calendars and email. So cool!
