Vista Falls

April 12th, 2008 by Saran

I was wondering if I could titled this post “Microsoft Dilemma” instead. Why must I state Vista is going down ? Well its pretty obvious at this moment why I would say such a thing.

The whole blogosphere since the release of “Vista” has been flooded by critics and complaints that is sufficient enough for anyone to say that the latest release of Microsoft is not doing well at all.

Of course, most PC’s systems like Dell are pushing Vista and companies like Alienware promote their performance ready systems for DirectX 10 and so on. There is of course sales and Microsoft makes tons of cash.

But if you were to look at the whole picture, 3 out of 5 people weekly in an average are so called “adopting” to Apple. One of them was myself to say. I was actually planning to move to Vista but as I was just procrastinating my purchase during the early stages. I was amazed on the amount of bugs and the lack of features as in things you could do on XP could not be done on Vista anymore. I strictly changed my mind.

Of course I’m not one in a million. Many people out there would have done the same thing. Ok moving to on to the big picture. Vista is flopping. At the same time, Microsoft Office is becoming irrelevant as Google Docs catches up. As well they(Microsoft) have lost tons of money in the recent E.U fine. So what about Microsoft’s future?

Thats why the whole Yahoo picture comes in. The only way to survive in any sort of fall, is to have Yahoo in their hands. The way I see it, thats the main reason why Microsoft is going all out on acquiring Yahoo. So does that conclude to Microsoft “dead” if they don’t get Yahoo? I leave this unanswered.

Well Im not the only one who thinks so. According to a TechCrunch post, Gartner analysts Michael Silver and Neil MacDonald said something similar too.
