Saravanan Sahadevan

It’s been a wonderful month. Lot’s of stuff went by, and I certainly have to apologize for not writing for a long time. I have been busy with lots of stuff from my new business and as well trying to redefine my self. Well, the good news or may be for some, the bad news is I’m back for good. 

I have been recently busy with few things such as :

1. Working on SCORPS, a new company we founded and we are working on our first brand, Mediavatharam which is an Indian IPTV. We have aimed high with a motive of creating new standards in Indian content. So let’s see together how that goes along on this blog as well. This stuff is due for launch on mid-january. 
2. Redefining my self as a creative director/head/creative business consultant. Well basically I have been a fan of freelancing. I’m building a network of freelance activities for my self as well others and the title mentioned above will be going along with me for my freelance job. It’s basically, being creative. All I do is coming up with people creative ideas and working solutions for their business, events, advertising, marketing or anything that matters. Why I chose such a field? I know its challenging and since small I had been coming up with a lot of ideas that I my self could not put to use due to well, lets say scarcity. So why not share it for the success of others? So I work along with basically everyone from event managers, PR, individuals, designers, and many more freelancers in order to get a project done. Being creative as well taking care of your project. That’s a load.
3. Although being creative is the crucial thing in what I do, it is highly important for me to grow some skills to smoothen my work. Well, I intended to take up web-design to the next level. Followed up by advanced vector designs, audio-video editing and composing, and Video FX. Well the time frame to get everything learned is a continues process as I get work done along. I intend to learn up bit’s and pieces that would allow me to work on smaller projects my self, hence reducing cost. 
4. Now for the blog, I’m focusing on a new theme. Becoming an Internet Superstar… possible? well that’s the whole thing about. I’m going to use my journey as a test for it. With mediavatharam in place and so on, I guess its the right point I do so as I would have main-stream media support. So let’s see if the main-stream still plays a vital role or not and lets challenge it with social media. Besides that, the blogs for my work’s to get published as well and at the same time, I would like to share with others creative ideas for you and who ever or what ever concerns. 
5. Couple of things added to the blog. My lifestream on the right. Which shows you & I postings or activities I have done everywhere around the social web. From twitter to seesmic. Speaking of seesmic, I have a new video widget on the right that would bring you video status messages from me, directly to you.

Continuation post to the previous addict routine. I wanted to continue, so that it would help me understand how much I have gone as well, help others and me if we were to be stuck at some points. Sometimes you would wake up and everything seems blur.

Wake Up

Emails - Basic. Check mails, If there is any immediate replies needed attend immediately. Do not take too much of time. Advice to split this activity twice a day. 

Login to Google - I would login to google, in order to save bookmarks on things that I come across through my RSS feeds on my mail client. I refrain from using delicious as I find it easier to share with Google Share Page. BTW, this is where I collect pages and form the Weekly In Social Web post. I would start to provide link of the share page, incase anyone was interested to view in real time what I was finding. P/S : You could track my activities via FriendFeed now days or just watch the widget on the right that says “Activity Around The Web”.

Twitter/Twhirl - Launches. Monitors/Listens to the world of word of mouth! Besides twitter, Twhirl launches my FriendFeed as well, which keeps me up to date with people and situation of personalities online that matters to me. For example, I would take Vickneswaran. I have added him as an imaginary friend. Now I instantly receive his activities in real time, whether its a tweet, a blog post, a flickr image upload or any other 46 famous social services. I am watching you Vickneswaran! 

RSS/Podcast - This happens constantly. When ever I have breaks. I would read what’s new on my RSS and listen to some podcast. Lots of people recommend Google Reader. Well I use my mac mail reader. I find it saves my time much more. Subscribe to possibly everything you want to know about. This will save a huge amount of your precious time by typing the page url and so on. If the news is interesting on your reader, open up the page. In this case, I open up this pages and share it with you on Google Share. Subscribe to blog feeds, news feeds, digg feeds, google alert feeds, twitter queries & everything else possible.

Blog - I blog a lot. I kind off find time when ever I can, to jot down points or immediately make a post. Time varies but mostly after sun set. You think better! 

IM - Once I’m done dealing with other stuffs in life, and if I have a client meeting online, I would normally IM or Skype with them. I refrain from going online often currently unless cliental work related. Rest, I communicate on Twitter & Emails.

Facebook/Linked In - Clean it up. Do not take anything more than half hour. Recognize a face? Add as your friend. Make sure you know them. On a professional stage, met someone in your professional arena today? I ask for their linked in profile and check them in. 

Time for BED! Well, this routine normally goes by this order. But it may vary. Besides that, there are certain tools such as Seemic, commenting on others blogs, mybloglog, etc that comes in-between of all this main activities. Actually, I spend a lot of my time commenting. Ermm, well that’s all folks. Another updated routine.

With all this! I’m updated with so much of information. I often have an information overload crisis! A new social habit of mine since the last routine would be listening. Im listening to peoples conversation to keep up. For example, I’m monitoring all local bloggers activity from blog post to Vimeo videos. Kind of learning trends I guess as well to make sure I know what’s cooking around.

Indian serials may cause brain damage?

Well not directly but indirectly. To be more accurate, Indian serials may lead to self depression and anxiety. The reason is simple. What does most Indian serials consist? 

Family problems, sorrow’s, betrayals, depressed emotions & the list goes on… being negative of course. 

I’m saddened on the ever growing industry of the Indian serials that seems to be coming up with more and more family problem oriented serials. I’m not too sure where this is leading to. But I’m confident enough to say that this is misleading current and future generations of Indian mankind. 

The cause of such disturbing serials leads to mentality change. People’s attitude and approach towards life becomes very shallow. 

I hope a change is made soon on mainstream entertainments.

Besides that, I’m many who follow me would know about Mediavatharam. Well with Mediavatharam in mind, I’m beginning my venture deeper into the production of Indian New Media content. Contents that would be niched. Content’s that was desired to be seen on main stream. Well, as the saying goes “Social Media, powered by the people for the people.”

I’m making this short post here on regards on my posting schedule. I may not be able to post as frequent I used to. But I would do my best to use batch postings. This is because of my new schedules for work & study. 

I hope those sincere readers would continue to support every single new content publish at the point of release at this blog.

My main aim on this blog is to provide a unique knowledge on digital lifestyles and the social web for everyone. At least something for everyone.

It is common for bloggers to feel over stressed and de-motivated when things don’t seem to be right. When I say things, I would mainly refer to statistics growth and readership. I do know how it does feel. Trust me I have experienced it. But I kind off found my way to motivate my self in order to post better. Just to share, here are some quick techniques that may help you if you are a blogger and currently de-motivated.

Love what we do - We may know this as most of us blog as a passion but not many practices much as said. Forget about negative feedbacks and do what you love best. Do keep going on. Blogging is a long term approach. May it take years. Keep reminding your self. Your goal will come soon if I blog harder. 

Forget Statistics - Don’t let the numbers hit your head. Let it be number of hits or page-views, your goal is to provide the internet space with something valuable. If you appreciate the effort made to get a post out, well sure would the blogosphere soon enough. 

Subscribers Amount - May it be 10 or 20, It doesn’t matter. Feel good with the 10 or 20 people who are following, reading and interested with you and your content. Treat every reader as your jewel. Trace out their favorites with Feedburner stat’s like I did in my recent post and find out what’s their choice of content. Focus on that particular type of content. It would be soon enough that your readership would increase. There will be always someone who would read your content at some point in time. 

Passion & Interest - Keep the flame burning in you. No matter what you blog about, do it with sincerity. As time go on, it will become a lifestyle on it’s own and I bet you would love it. I have started to love it. Remember, it’s all about time and patience

I was looking at my Feedburner stats and what I found out was that, my subscribers reacted most towards my productivity post. Not much at the media or tech news post. You could see it on the above image. 

I am overwhelmed by this stats. I was slowly intending to shift to make this place a knowledgeable community. All I wanted to do was to share my original productivity post and my personal reactions and advises in all areas such as Technology, Media & Lifestyle. As well with some added zest of my own personal lifestyle postings. 

I was also happy to see that, even subscribers reacted to lifestyle & media advises given by me for example on global warming and tamil media hopes(Billa 2). Now that’s some encouragement. I’m thrilled to keep on posting what I loved best, Productivity & Advises.
