This morning as I woke up and launched my RSS reader, God, we really have some content here. It was flooded basically. This actually happens everyday and well that’s why I decided to yack about it as well.

I was just wondering how come, most of us could not keep up with RSS feeds and have a difficult time to get news first. Simple observations lead me to two basic points which made sense.

Time Zone - As for me, most stuffs that happens at the Silicon Valley, is during the time I snooze. So I kind of miss what’s happening live. Not at all times I have the energy to stay awake up to 4 or 5 a.m in the morning. So by right, RSS readers do come in handy to check out what you have missed, though the volume is practically large.

Confusion - There’s so much information popping up every second, that’s like if you have tons of feeds like me. I actually would love to go through every single content, but sometimes its not convenient. All I do is to glance through titles and stop at titles that I feel important and would read through it. Filters and search are good options but it has not been working well with me, so I would not recommend it. So don’t practice of reading every single thing or you would end up in confusions and Fatal overload. That’s scary. Don’t forget to hit the read on/more link and interact with the particular blog or site.

Based on my recent post on informations overload, Can this type of RSS flood declare an overload? As for me yes. So we have to deal with it more humanly. Pick your favorites and dump the rest.
