The technology advancement, the internet & the community is no longer only a place for the tech savvy or commonly known as for geeks. The term geek is abolished as it only refers to people who are extreme in something and has no balance. Briefly there’s none anymore.
The community on the internet and people engaged with some sort of technology are now known as the Generation-i. Engaging with technology may be as simple as using your phones & its ability to organize your self with the help of the digital medium. In a break down, we shall look at the key facts of generation-i.
No more an age barrier - It’s over. There is no such thing as an age gap today. Technology and the Gizmorism (I made this word up) is not only for the younger generation but its now for everyone. It’s all about the mindset of one. People who have the initiative and inner spirits to achieve something in a new approach in today’ world. People who would want to be more organized and productive.
Everyone’s a geek - Are you using your phones to organize your selfs, an email addict. Are you extreme with some technology? Then you are a geek. Commonly, everyone does this sort of things today. You could claim a “No”. But that’s the fact. We are geeks that know how to chill out. For example, celebrities are now moving on to the social media. So you classify them. Theoretically, the term “Geek” is abolished. We are using technology today to enhance our daily life. You could also say that geeks have become cool now.
The Community - You have heard it. From social media to main stream media. Its all about the community and networking. We are using the internet and technologies today to build our own respective communities and to engage your self in one. A community has respective interest by its own. What you do in the real world today has made it self present in a digital medium to save you more money and time. At the same time, opening your doors to a global platform for more opportunities.
There are some today who debate between nerds & geeks. Well we have and are geeks in everything. A geek in a sport, technology, clubs and many more. It refers to unique professionalism and the extreme amount one has mastered in an area of interest. Where by we say nerds for studious type of people. But that differs from person to person. On the other hand, Generation-i does not lie on any of this categories. Its a lifestyle by its own and we are living it without realizing it.
