In a day, I stumble upon through stumble upon or search engines to various blogs that are seriously wonderful. Often I do comment on the postings made and would love to continue to do so.
Sadly, I have a bad memory. I’m sure we all do sometimes at least. I do not remember most of the places I left a comment to check back. I’m sure I’m not the only one but many others.
I would like to appeal to all other blog authors to have a plugin or script to subscribe to individual post comments like the one you could find on my blog. I’m using a Wordpress plugin by Mark Jaquith. Its works with the latest version of Wordpress (WP 2.6) although it is not stated as so.
Its standard for Wordpress code system to generate RSS feeds for comments but it does not any make sense to subscribe to comments with RSS. That’s because its not filtered by post basis or so and you would get insane by finding anything related to your comment.
The easiest and the best method till date would be to just have a plugin activated and let it do the rest by sending email prompts messages on recent comments.
Update : WordPress does actually generate per-post comment feeds! The feed for this post is http://saranx.com/2008/08/06/i-beg-the-blogosphere-to-add-comments-subscriptions/feed/. , thx Mark.
