Was just wondering, what made TechCrunch to be on top ? Besides the king Mike’s post. I was just doing some simple observations and I noticed something that most high traffic site does in common is to separate track-backs and comments. You could even see this on Mashable.
Well, lets look at TechCrunch. They have split the track-backs so well and it’s given some sort of priority in order to appear first.
Here’s the deal. By doing such on high traffic sites, most content developers on news sites or blogs are attracted to link back to a related post and would do so in order to also obtain a nice track-back as well. Its almost the same like who leaves the first comment.
This helps both parties. Im happy to say this actually, because the whole blogosphere is helping one and another in someway. As more and more site links back towards TechCrunch, theoretically, search engine ranks and technorati authority ranks increases. At the same time, those who linked back to the site, gets credited and may or maybe drive a little interested people in.
This is just my opinion though. Had it in mind. Thought it would be helpful and productive to some. If you own a blog, maybe you should consider to separate your track-backs and links. This would make a lot more of people to appreciate what you have written.
